@Chefren and others, what are your predictions for North Macedonia vs Italy (observer: Jakov) and Italy vs Ukraine (observer: Duhamel)?
ReplyDeleteVery important games for qualification.
Given the crucial importance of the game and the famous Italy - North Macedonia 0-1, committee has surely appointed an extremely experienced Elite referee. The Israeli observer indeed gets always such kind of appointments.
DeleteThe same for Italy - Ukraine with Duhamel.
Maybe even Marciniak for MKD - ITA, definitely I don't expect any surprise here...
I can see Marciniak definitely on one of the games. 2nd name is more difficult. No English refs. Could be Vincic again, but he had Italy recently in Nations League. Or Gil Manzano
DeleteGil Manzano / Turpin, but not Turpin with Duhamel, so in case in North Macedonia.
DeleteNordmazedonien - Italy: Referee Felix Zwayer
DeleteLutz who is referee ITALIA UCRANIA?
DeleteDebut for Karabayev? IIRC I never see his name in UEFA competitions, interesting to see his performance with Cakir. Another question, is Philipp Farrugia and Trustin Farrugia have relations, brother? Twins? Or just common name in Malta.?
ReplyDeleteI don't think they are related. There are a series of surnames in Malta that are just extremely common (Farrugia, Borg, Caruana, Azzopardi, Micallef, Agius, Cassar, Zammit...)
DeleteIt is a common surname in Malta, they are not related but great buddies.
DeleteKarabayaev did matches in qualifiers in club matches this summer
DeleteI don’t know how higher Cakir rated as observer, but still quite interesting and surprising to see Karabayev, out of nowhere with Cakir.
DeleteBusy schedule for the Italian senior :)) My assumption is, he won’t be used in MD1 UCL. Rather MD2, to give him a break (and Serie A needs him as well)

ReplyDeleteWilton Sampaio (Brazil) is a special guest in the UEFA Summer course.
Is this an indication of Sampaio to EURO 2024, or just an exchange which we shouldn't really look into much further?
DeleteIndication of Sampaio to Euro2024, fo me
DeleteI think he’s good referee, good enough to UEFA teams and higher rated than middle tier elite like Gozubuyuk (I read Zeinstra want to help him to book flight ticket to Germany)
DeleteHoward webb has released the communication and var audio of the PL decision making process for 6 big decisions so far. Very good listen and all PL global broadcasting partners have the Audio. Shown in UK today first

Updated list of referees:
Barbu, Delajod, Xhaja, Jablonski, Nobre, Kikacheishvili, Minaković, Ladebäck, Frid, Masiyev, Ciochirca, Sylwestrzak, Ocenás.
Sorry, Xhaja isn't there I think.
DeleteBesides the ones you listed (Barbu, Delajod, Jablonski, Nobre, Kikacheishvili, Minaković, Ladebäck, Frid, Masiyev, Ciochirca, Sylwestrzak, Ocenáš), others in the program for this season are Balakin (UKR), Manouchos (GRE), Theoulí (CYP), Robertson (SCO), De Gabriele (MLT), Nuza (KOS) and a Norwegian referee whose name I can't confirm yet (Hagenes/Kringstad?, Saggi already was last year....)
what is this special program for? and on what merit were these referees chosen? who are the women in the first picture?

About the criteria for selection, of course you must trust UEFA :) I think there is a mix of perspective names and advices by domestic federations.
Sound Good. I read in your Facebook also the females. Seems like Germany has quit and left the game…sad for the once so glorious referee nation…the heirs of Steinhaus, where are they?
DeleteMinkovic instead of Milanovic?
DeleteWow, I expected to see young Serbian in Talent mentor after very good last season on the international scene.
Anyone from Serbia who can give us more information?
Thanks
Howard Webb is in charge of EPL referees. His leadership dictates the drumbeat on the pitch where too many controversies have exposed his referee(s) and VAR's delinquencies. Anyone who witnessed Webb's incompetent performance at WC 2010 Spain v Netherlands knows full well that De Jong's karate kick into the chest of Xabi Alonso was blatant and intentional. To which he responded with only a Yellow Card in the 28th minute instead of the mandatory Red Card. After that incident, the game became an ugly slugfest and Webb lost total control of the game.
ReplyDeleteHis track record as MLS referee director from 2018-2022 and now with the EPL (PGMOL) beckons the question, why him?
how can you relate one match, or one single decision, to the leadership skills and teaching skills of someone? what is the track record as mls directors from 2018-2022? give us some numbers...pretty sure the premier league, as richest league in the world, thought pretty intensively about it who they want to have as boss of one of the most critical jobs to do...
DeleteThe EPL saw a big name, a big persona, and a big ego. So, they erroneously thought that would be enough. And as we've seen, it's clearly not. Maybe if he surrounded himself with a competent staff, he wouldn't have to spend so much time making phone calls to apologize for his referee's blunders.
DeleteTo answer Anonymous Q.
DeleteHe is extremely talented and experienced.
So you think that he not up to the job.?
So why did you not apply for the job .
Do you really think that one of the top associations in the world of football ,made a mistake .
So is the Q ,you simply don’t like him .
OT: Guys, does anyone know what’s the whistle Daniele Orsato uses?
ReplyDeleteyellow fox 40 whistle
DeleteIs it a Classic, was wondering because it looks like it, but doesn’t sound as a Classic…
DeleteAnyone know what kind of watches the Italian referees use? Looks like a some kind of Garmin Forerunner , but can´t find anything on the web..

The disallowed goal in KAZ - FIN, don't know whether further replays were shown, but it looks like ball was not totally out...

Sometimes its hard to tell, but in this particular instance, it definitely looks like the ball did not leave the field of play.

Disallowed third goal for Spain in Tbilisi: the picture sent by VAR was absolutely useless...
ReplyDeleteAwful officiating in Georgia
ReplyDeleteOn what grounds . All seems good to me
DeleteHarsh with the home team.
ReplyDeletemust be watching a different game
DeleteHello , can someone help me with answers from the new Uefa Rap ?
ReplyDeleteCrystal clear YC missed by Nyberg in 2 minute. The foul on Lobotka was clearly reckless
ReplyDeleteOFR for Kikacheishvili in the early minutes, he was called by the Israeli VAR following a challenge by keeper on attacker (punch with both hands after having missed ball). Not all VARs would have called this.
ReplyDeleteIn case someone missed it, observers for MD1 of UEFA club competitions

Cyprus observer with a Greek club.
DeleteWhat’s your intention? I don’t see any negative nuance with Cypriot and Greek.
DeleteBosnia-Liechtenstein
ReplyDelete64’ IMO it was dark YC, it could be VC? What do you think?
I think the fact that he doesn't swing with his elbow saves him in this situation, but I'm also not sure if it was completely accidental…
DeleteSimply excellent performance from Orsato, displayed high bar for the foul that bring joy for physical fairly game.
ReplyDeleteExcellent? I think we watched different match😉.
DeleteCan you provide or mention the incident that lead to your argument why Orsato not excellent last night
DeleteAnyone see the incident of Ronaldo YC, looked a shocking incident
ReplyDeleteShould have been sent off. Studs to the face with high intensity.
DeleteIn minute 74, Kazakh referee in Bosnia-Liechtenstein almost committed a total disaster by showing a second yellow card to a player (mistaken identity), but thankfully corrected himself after input from a teammate.
ReplyDeleteHe looked totally confused in that moment..
missed handball bei siebert in georgia after already two minutes...no var intervention. i can not understand why...arm is away from the body, unnatural position. should be reviewed by fritz...shame
