  1. Not sure if this was the best idea. To assign Brych to Switzerland game after THAT wc match

    ReplyDelete
  2. I don't think that the problem was with Switzerland. I think the problem was mainly with Serbia. Interesting to see Kassai appointed to. Would that mean that he will also referee a match? Or is he just there to be fourth official in one match?
Interesting to see that a Hungarian fourth official is observed by a Hungarian observer....

  3. So the "big guns" are out for the Nations League Finals, I think we should see Cakir too and maybe Mateu?

  5. In my opinion Cüneyt Çakir is a strong candidate for UEFA Nations League Final on 9 June 2019.He had amazing matches in UEFA Champions League (7 in total) and a record season in Turkey with 25 Süper Lig games. He was in charge of two finals already this year: Saudi Super Cup and Turkish Super Cup.He officated the Final Play off match in Turkish 1.Lig and had two important title clashes in Saudi Arabia. It would make sense to appoint Çakir because he is a VAR expert, he is always a good choice for big finals and his season was excellent so far.Çakir is among the world's best since many years,so it would be a great chance for UEFA to honor his great performances and amazing career with a final with national teams.

    1. I fully agree, Cakir is also my favourite for this final.
For NED-ENG Mateu or Orsato, I think.
3rd place could go to someone with less VAR experience like Hategan - or Kassai, if the 4th official appointment means something.

Interesting interview released by Rocchi to Sky Sport Italy after having officiated Europa League final.
He is very satisfied with the game in Baku, he thanked AIA, UEFA and FIFA for this opportunity. It was wonderful for him to officiate an English derby, it was a dream. Players were very fair, and focused on play, this was appreciated. He loves English football for that.
A special mention for Irrati, he was very confident on the game also because he had one among the best VAR ever behind the monitor, a cooperation (Rocchi - Irrati) started almost 2 years ago.
He is happy VAR didn't intervene in the game.
Some words about polemics in Italy due to VAR use, but Rocchi says he is very happy with VAR and he wouldn't renounce to that.
Italy will have for next season a central room (VOR) for VAR, close to Rocchi's house, in Florence. He is satisfied and he thinks that referees working as VAR will be more expert.
Final words about the next year: it depends on the decision by committee, of course, but he can't imagine himself for now in a different role than referee, and if he finds motivations, as it was for now, he will continue.
In other words: quite sure he will get a derogation for next season, it seems he already talked with Rizzoli about that.

  8. Do you know if Referees appointed for Nation League final stage will stay in Portugal OR will travel only for the match ?
In the 1st case Kassai could be an option for 3/4th place match and Brych could be 4th official for final match.

  10. Please I am very, worried about the Nederland vs England game...
Bych can't ref because he his from Ned...
Lahoz just finished an fourth official appointment last week...
    Same to rocchi and osatto...

So I don't think uefa will call this 3 refs because of this...

I 100% think that cakir will be in charge of the final...

So cakir will be drop for the game....

And uefa need big names to ref this match...
Am confuse who will ref the match...
Maybe uefa will consider lahoz or osatto, because of last week fourth official appointment....

And I also think tupin could be in charge of it....

    1. Turpin is in France for the Women World cup, he can't be in Portugal.

    2. Ok after this who do you think...

    3. I think Cakir, Orsato and Mateu for the other semi-final, 3rd place and final.

    4. Don't worry if Bych is from the Nederland, Osatto and Tupin are not, so no problems there. #omg

      Delete
    5. So who is this Dutch referee Bych? Is he any good? ;)

      Delete
    6. He must be good and "invisible", never heard of any controversies from him ;)

  11. Off point...

I think Michael oliver is the best referee in the Fifa u20 tournament...

100% penalty call in this tournament so far no need of Var intervention...

100% foul call and cards given...

I think maybe he his too big for this tournament...
Maybe FIFA test him with var for this small tournament...😂😂😂

    ReplyDelete
  12. Turpin should be busy in France for FIFA women world cup. Why can he travel to Portugal?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. The tournament in France will start on 7 June.... I don't see this big problem if Turpin officiates a game in Portugal on 6 June.

      Delete
    2. I though that all referees appointed for FIFA world cup need to gather in advance, make fitness and training class all together some days before. Especially for VAR, which should be the first time used in the female competition; Turpin should make exercise to properly communicate and practice with their women colleagues on the pitch. Anyway, no big problem. The point is that there are referees who are over appointed and some others who are almost forgotten. I.E. Collum and Hategan would have fit nation league semifinals, or on the other hands, Marciniak or Rainville could have replaced Turpin as VAR at WC

      Delete
    3. Well, you are right under this point of view, management could be surely better. Referees attending FIFA tournaments are called by UEFA for other games. Difficult to plan everything but surely some Elite referees are not considered like other ones.

    2. I do not understand why is it such a problem that observer is from Wales in England's match. He is observing referees not teams? Moreover in youth league matches UEFA usually appoints observers from host country.

  17. Felix Brych allowing a very physical game early on. Very physical I must say

  18. 9': this can be RC for SFP. What a mistake to miss YC!

    1. I thought this is a red card as soon as I saw the replay and wouldn't mind a VAR intervention??

      Delete
  19. Dark YC missed by Brych!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Now another missed YC. Really don't understand Brych approach today.

    ReplyDelete
  21. And again possible YC not given this time in favour of the Swiss. So Brych is „balanced“ now and can/should give a card soon

    ReplyDelete
  22. Unlike brych early on. The one I know would have given 2 yellow cards maybe this is the brych of Netherlands we were speaking of

    ReplyDelete
  23. *sigh* I fear we are fools to watch an international match nowadays and expect to see a good disciplinary control. Two mandatory cards missed, maybe even a red one.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Can't say that their isn't consistency. The worldwide practice to refuse to show early 1st half cautions. Sad that a referee like Brych has been infected by this disease. He used to be a referee who didn't think twice about showing early cards.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. 100% agree. I was never a fan of him, but at least he could be trusted in the disciplinary department. Not anymore for a few months now, this is just further, rather shocking proof.

      Delete
    2. I feel that we must resign ourselves and begrudgingly accept that this is the new terrible "norm". Because men and women who supposedly know more than me about officiating football matches have decided that this is the best way to do it. A return to late 80's early 90's brutal and thuggish football ruled by goons and not the talented ones.

      Delete
  25. I think you can't compare first and second missed YC. The first one is more red, to be issued in any case, it is big mistake according to UEFA RAPs to miss this card. I think Brych didn't have an exact perception of the incident, but at the same time I must say VAR could be right in being silent because not a 100% clear RC.

    ReplyDelete
  26. After borderline RC foul by Bruno Fernandes, now a rough tactical foul. Still no card.

    ReplyDelete

    1. It's still the 1st half. Cards stay in the dressing room. He'll have them in the 2nd half though ;)

      Delete
  27. So, who is expected for the final and 3rd place match?

    ReplyDelete
  28. All I can say, is that I don't want to read any more complaints in regards to lack of cards by any referee at the U-20 World Cup. No matter what country that referee is from.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Your opinions - foul? I think yes definitely but commentators don't think so

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. For me as well. You can‘t jump into an opponent even if you touch the ball

      Delete
  30. What do you think? Foul or not before the goal? For me yes, but Swiss commentator is quite angry...

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yeah, my country's commentator says 50-50. But my experience tells that you can't trust commentators.

      Delete
    2. Especially not if they are not neutral like in my case ;)

      Delete
    3. Commentators here are neutral (1 Chilean, 1 Argentine). They both said no foul. Swiss player cleanly won the ball first.

      Delete
    4. Haha, sometimes you just want to laugh when a commentator, knowing nothing about VAR, wants a referee to make an on-field review for a fregular offside incident that affects his team.;)

      Delete
    5. Then, I ask myself what information they get and if they read them...
Btw Swiss commentator is still fuming about the freekick decision even 20 minutes after

      Delete
    6. It is annoying how they are talking like 'the experts' that know everything better than the referees. Maybe they should first read the LotG and VAR protocol? xD

      Delete
    7. What's the point of commentators reading the LoTG? If "Modern" referee's choose to not use them anyways.

And I don't blame the Swiss commentators either. As it was a clean tackle. The Swiss player wins the first and then Ronaldo simply falls over the Swiss player.

      Delete
  31. Was it a foul prior to the goal? I think it was a fair tackle

    ReplyDelete
  32. Clean tackle IMO. Contact was made with the ball first, then Ronaldo goes over the Swiss player. Brych decision directly affects the scoreline.

    ReplyDelete
  33. IMO Bryce is a bit overestimated referee but that foul decision was correct IMO.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Imo he was right but his precedence of allowing physical game will defineyly count against

    ReplyDelete
  35. No PK there. VAR correctly declines to intervene. What's worryingly is how badly out of position that play caught Brych. He passively stood there waving his hand as the ball was played forward. He never reacted.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Agree here. I want to compare Brych with Guerrero Ramirez. Both of them haven't got a good disciplinary control (Brych had at times but not anymore) but Ramirez at least looks super motivated to be as close as possible to where he has to be. Brych don't.

      Delete
    2. Guerrero in FIFA Competitions becomes what the Ref Comm wants him to become. Guerrero on a weekly basis in Liga MX is not the referee we've seen in Poland. The FIFA Ref Comm seems to intentionally go out of its way to ruin good referee's.

      Delete
    3. OK, Brych has not been good so far. But he performed well for the last years in some difficult games as well. Why can‘t he have one bad game (or maybe even just one bad half)? Plus, Brych‘s disciplinary control has always been one of the best under the UEFA referees and to say it‘s not good seems unfair to me.

      Delete
    4. That's the core of the problem with most if not all Ref Comm's. They allow "big name" referee's to simply get by based on past glories and not current form. They continue to receive high profile assignments regardless of having poor performances. No accountability and unlike CAF no consequences.

      Delete
  36. IMO Brych is not the same ref he was 2-3 years ago, when every YC foul he would gave YC like it's nothing.
This year in particular he manages game to show less cards, more talking like other top refs(Cakir,Kuipers),which he for sure is,but in past he had hand in his pocket way more.
    Looks like that's changed.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Regarding disciplinary, IMO referees shouldn't communicate with players too, too much. If they don't know the laws, they don't. If they know them but violate them due to adrenaline, that will not change. Explaining every decision, saying 'calm down', shouting at them won't help. Cards will.

      Delete
  37. In my opinion not the best first half by Felix Brych in a game with some challenging moments. One crystal clear YC missed (maybe even a RC) and two potential YCs.One correct evaluated penalty situation.

But in my opinion the biggest problem of Brych's performance tonight is his passive approche and unmotivated way of refereeing. When you see Brych doing the choise of ends he is acting very unmotivated and bored. No clear body language and sometimes I think he is very loud/angry to the players. He is the opposite of Cüneyt Cakir which is always calm and level-headed also in challenging and hot games.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Agree on every single word. IMO Cakir is the best referee and Ref545 is the best commentator out here.;)

      Delete
    2. Well,he achieved most of goals for referees so I can see that.
I can remember his Barcelona -Atletico match where we could see him fully motivated, being alert and brandishing yellows like it is nothing.

      Delete
    3. But as a referee you have to bee motivated all the time. Motivation can't come and go away.

      Delete
    4. If you no longer have the motivation. Retire.

      Delete
    5. I think Brych lost his motivation after he had only one game in WC 2018... Because he is too old for WC 2022... Very sad for him, he deserves at least one match in WC playoff anyway...

      Delete
  38. I don't understand what is doing Brych there with that finger in front of VAR monitor.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. he shows that he checks the first penalty incident

      Delete
    2. He's indicating that he's reviewing the 1st PK incident

      Delete
    3. That is really informative and useful for the public. Good idea.

      Delete
    4. Why should he do that?

      Delete
  39. Ouh, what a chaos here. Was that really a mistake by Brych? Not so sure

    ReplyDelete
  40. IMO, neither of the 2 incidents were PK's.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. But the second one would have been supportable at least IMO. So correct would have been no VAR intervention at all

      Delete
    2. Well u have to give one lol. The first was a penalty. A clip on his ankle

      Delete
    3. As some on this blog would say. Was there really "enough" there? Enough to merit VAR intervention?

      Delete
  41. In my opinion never a clear mistake the first penalty and so I think wrong review. It is easy to say that RC at the beginning of the game was more clear mistake than this very soft penalty, but well... overall not a good game for Brych today, he looks very, very unsure.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I like the German referees in general, but the cannot use VAR properly I‘m sorry...

      Delete
    2. Right, after the review he looked extremely unsure.

      Delete
    3. Now Chefren we must understand what is clear and obvious. VAR would ask are u aware there was a clip and brych reply would have caused the FOR.

      Delete
    4. With that it is left for Brych to decide whether it was enough to warrant a penalty because dingert surely will say it was a penalty to him

      Delete
    5. There are 4 possible arguments for the OFR:
      1. Brych immediately had doubts and asked for the VAR check (hand to ear gesture). So maybe he wanted to see the situation again anyway
      2. Brych probably missed the leg contact, so it falls in the "missed incident" category
      3. With the penalty on the other side and the game situation, the decision got double importance. Maybe one wants to take the referee and not the VAR to take such important decisions in general
      4. Brych changed his decision after the OFR - that is somehow a justification afterwards

Then there is the big argument against it, that it was not a clear and obvious mistake.

Probably a matter of opinion, which arguments are more convincing.

      Delete
    6. Brych's decision would possibly be more believable and supportable if he'd be having a better match. When you've been under par for the majority of the match. Your decisions lose credibility and acceptance.

      Delete
    7. @Philipp point 3 in my opinion should never exist :)

      Delete
  42. Nearly impossible to spot live, but the Portuguese defender touches the Swiss leg, which causes the Swiss to hit his other leg and fall. Definitely supportable if it had been called initially but doubts about it being a clear error

    ReplyDelete
  43. Well, what has just happened shows the problem of German referees with VAR with respect to the standard in other leagues. Their threshold is so low that they invite the referee to review non-existent penalties or very soft touches (also in UCL). This also makes one wonder what was the problem with having referees in whose countries there is no VAR in UCL if there is not uniformity among the others anyway…

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Their threshold is only low if the referee did not see the incident which was the case here. The problem is that with this approach non-clear mistakes are corrected while UEFA only suggests an OFR after an obvious mistake.

      Delete
    2. Still, that reason is not applied in other leagues or refereeing teams from other countries. For sure in Spain, and the impression I have is that Italy is similar to Spain.

      Delete
    3. I don‘t understand why there are different methods. I don‘t care which one is used but it would be so much easier to be consistent throughout Europe and the world

      Delete
    4. Yes in Italy it is the same like Spain, that's why I don't consider the first penalty as VAR material. There isn't at least consistency, an Italian VAR would not call referee there.

      Delete
  44. Excellent spot by Dingert and Stieler. Everybody was looking for possible holding but it's a clear careless leg contact there. Well done!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. +1

I can only repeat your words, excellent intervention!!

VAR can only deal with facts, and this was an OBJECTIVE penalty. SUI player was only interested to run for the ball and he was tripped. The term 'clear and obvious' is misunderstood by many readers, I think.

      Delete
    2. Here's the clip btw: https://streamable.com/jsetx

      Delete
    3. I don't think, this is an objective or factual decision, because it still needs the interpretation of the referee, whether the contact is the reason for the fall of the Swiss player. The fact, that there is a contact is not sufficient for a penalty decision IMO.

For me a "clear and obvious" mistake means, that the decision was wrong in the opinion of nearly everyone, who has sufficient knowledge about refereeing. I am not sure, whether this is the case here.

      Delete
    4. if missing a clear leg contact between a defender and an attacker that results in the attacker's leg making contact with the other leg (what directly leads to attacker's fall) isn't a clear and obvious mistake, I'm lost

      Delete
    5. Really am lost for words. There was a clear trip there and sufficient for foul anywere on the pitch but when it comes to the penalty we begin to shy away. That was worthy of an intervention at least it's obvious there was a clip. If we keep shouting clear and obvious then why are done decisions not given after OFR. That s because of perception.

      Delete
    6. My opinion. Brych has certainly rated only the thing above. The light contact below is barely perceptible. This at least explains why the VA then intervenes because Brych had no perception of the lower contact.

      Delete
    7. This comment has been removed by the author.

      Delete
    8. I am watching and watching and I still can not see that first trip. All I can see is that SUI player tripped himself.

      Delete
    9. Regarding yesterday's incident, my opinion: OFR was more or less correct as video match officials spotted a contact (yes, there was a very small contact - Swiss foot touches Potugeese knee) that Brych didn't spot (missed incident). But what was totally incorect, is the final decision. That was no way a penalty. If such "touches" would be whisled as fouls, we would have more that triple as many fouls in a game than now. The Swiss player is raising his leg at it hits the Portugeese knee. I think the wrong decision was, in one way, a result of Brych's unmotivated approach to the game and, more importantly, lack of concentration, cofidence and self-awarness that we could see during the review (the extremely strange indication with his finger, having a quick view at the field of play) and in the whole match (he is shouting a lot; Cakir is a great example of a cool-headed referee - no shouting at all from him, much better managment). Brych is a bit overestimated referee IMO.

      Delete
    10. As I read through the comments I realize something. The same type of foul where most would say "too soft" and excuse a referee from whistling a PK. In this case becomes a must whistle incident. I've long said that there is no such thing as a small foul or big foul. Fouls are just that, fouls. An opinion that has long been brushed off. Each and every time you flip flop on this issue. Your comments and persona lose credibility.

      Delete
    11. OK, I can say it in a shorter way. There was no foul at all.

      Delete
  45. 65 minute aaaaaaand finally the first caution. Followed by a verbal "fuck off" from the Swiss pllayer towards Brych. Nice ;)

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. You saying that with sarcasm, right? :)

      Delete
    2. The Swiss player said it. The TV cameras caught him saying it. It shows how little respect or care the Swiss player had for the caution and Brych

      Delete
    3. Sorry, I replied the wrong comment, I meant the next one. Regarding this one - yeah, that just shows how you can get a game out of your control by not showing cards.

      Delete
    4. I'm sorry but if you give a caution and a player tells you to 'fuck off' should you not be giving them a second yellow and red?

      Delete
    5. IMO, "fuck off" is foul and abusive language. And it can very easily be a straight red card offense

      Delete
  46. How on earth was that a yellow card (the first one), but the possible red card in first half not even a card at all...?!

    1. One happened in the 1st half and the other in the 2nd half. There in itself is the answer you seek.

  47. I‘m sorry to say, but in Germany, the IFAB protocol about VAR is strictly applied. I don‘t know whether that is the case in other countries, it doesn‘t seem so. There is a clear statement that in case the referee missed an incident, it does not have to be a blatant mistake. If the VAR, after having spoken with the referee, comes to the conclusion that the referee might change his initial decision, an OFR can be recommended.
That is how it should work. One can argue that the contact in this incident was low. However, Brych probably did not see the contact and therefore, if Dingert thinks replays could change his decision, an OFR might be helpful.

    ReplyDelete
  48. The reason not give a penalty in such situations is not because the contact is “small”, but because it is exaggerated. In this situation, the drop was natural, so the strength of the contact is not important and everything was done correctly.

    ReplyDelete

    3. Why was Castrilli's comment deleted?

    4. Cool you deleted my comment which based on his latest assignments was not wrong. But no worries, because if I was wrong he would be the man in the middle not on the sideline babysitting coaches.

    5. Chris bramis, what do you want to say with that?

    6. Sidiropoulos must learn how VAR works so he get more games with VAR as fourth official than other Elite referees.

      Delete
    7. we see that to europe matches with VAR they appoint referees with var in their domestic league. He took charge in 2 KO matches at this year Europa leaguen with one major error at each match so the committee doesn't trust him enough

      Delete
    8. Exactly Chris! That's what it boils down to. He doesn't even have the trust of his own home Ref Comm to be assigned to the sonorous Greek matches. They're forced to import Referee's for those matches.

      Delete
    9. That is why I asked that general question - if he is not one of the best referees this season, why is he appointed for this match where a very experienced referee and future talent as VAR are appointed?

      Delete
    10. This is an excellent question for Mr Rosetti. An even better would be if he will keep his Elite status.

      Delete
    11. Right. If he keeps the elite, that would be ridiculous.

      Delete
    12. His performances this season don't merit him keeping Elite status. Similar to Svein Odvar-Moen he needs to be demoted so he can refocus and remake himself as a referee.

    13. He stated that his big goal it to attend Euro2020. I hope he ll step up next season but already his chances are.very low

    1. Fortunately for Turpin the foul was so very obvious and easy to spot. Because the play caught his well out out of position and quite far away from the incident.

  53. Good play-on now (37'). Defender played the ball clearly.

  54. 1st caution now (44'). Correct. However, he missed another one for SPA.

    1. He gave a YC for the foul at 30' for de Ligt (penalty situation).

    2. Yes, sorry forgot about that.

  55. Mind blown! Two, yes two Cautions shown in a 1st Half of a match. So it can be done without the referee "ruining" the match.

  56. Probably didn't call the foul on the English player in his box because the keeper was going to get the ball, and a goalie punt is better than a free kick, but he should have at least warned the Dutch player. And with the English player being hurt on the foul, it looks very bad that he didn't call it.

  57. Excellent first half by Clement Turpin in an interesting game. One clear and correct penalty given (30' resulting YC) and another YC for a reckless arm challenge.Solid and expected foul detecion.Physically he is very strong and reminds me ofJesus Gil Manzano. He is motivated, active and always commuicative with the right warnings.Well done!!

  58. Correct play on (52’). No contact with the foot and a minor one with the arm, nothing to be whistled.

    1. I will repeat myself without sarcasm. Foul detection in the first 15 min. of the second half was not consistent and Turpin whistled many 50-50 situations in favour of the English. It raised irritations in the Dutch team which could have easily been prevented by a more balanced approach.

      Delete
    2. Completely disagree with you. Just a question of circumstances. Not because of foul detection.

      Delete
    3. Of course you can disagree FRENCHref. Rewatch De Roon’s alleged attacking foul in England’s box, he doesn’t do anything, is just standing still. England was given a FK after an undeliberate handball near ASR2. The situation in the box where Bergwijn was challenged by an Englishman without having an eye for the ball. Just three random examples :)

    4. I watched the game. Turpin is not biased and you should stop hinting or implying that he is!

      Delete
    5. Good morning Jackson, thanks for the substantial comment. You spend however no single word on contradict the examples I mentioned, with which I wanted to make clear that his tactical approach was unbalanced. Not biased. And no, I will not move on just because it would suit you :)

  59. My god, we can stop commenting... Only applause for the referee tonight! What this moderator is doing tonight is nonsense, no insults or agressive words, just a slight touch of cynism. In the dictionary this is called censorship.

  60. Two VAR interventions: disallowed goal and then NO PENALTY for hanbdall.
The call for AR was very difficult...

  61. I really like the way Turpin managed the VAR review for the offside. This calm is really something he improved in the last months.

    ReplyDelete
  62. It took all that time to decide what was obvious live? The ball clearly hits the English player in the number on his back.

    1. I think there was two potential handball to verify.

    2. Balls clearly hitting the thigh of a player and the back of a player equal potential? That's a very low threshold.

    3. Disagree. It wasn’t that long. About 45 seconds.

      Delete
    4. All because the Dutch players mobbed the referee and demanded VAR check. If I'm a coach of team where VAR is in use. I'm instructing my players to just that. Mob and hound the referee on each and every "potential" PK incident and demand VAR check.

  63. 100’ That was a blatant yellow card not given to Lingard after studs up tackle hitting Blind on the foot. Clear example of a reckless tackle.

    1. I agree. Turpin had an extremely poor angle on the play and was initially not even going to whistle for a foul.

  64. Correct and proper execution of the keep the flag down by AR until the play concludes. However there ended up being somewhat of a collision at the end of the play. If a player was to have been injured there. Is it simply going to be accepted as just a by product of VAR protocol?

  65. 100' very clear missed YC. All were astonished for Brych, but now?

    1. Turpin is hide by Lingard’s body and didn’t see contact here. Obvious with tv angle but difficult to see with normal view.

    2. Luckily he did have a good visual angle when Dutch Van de Beek fouled his opponent and got himself booked.

    3. Ok ok dutch boy. Are you a Feyenoord’s fan ? Still angry about match with As Roma to again and again be so sarcastic ?

    4. If Turpin wasn't so passive, tired looking and disinterested on the field. He would have gotten himself into the proper position.

    5. Oh but i agree with you about position’s failure here Sheriff but overall very good performance of the french crew. Your opinion ?

  67. OK performance of Turpin, but nowhere near to excellent in my opinion. No big controversies, a correct, but most obvious penalty for England and mostly in control. But I also noted inconsistencies in disciplinary management and handball assessments and a suboptimal tactical approach. Apart from that, though he improved his soft skills, I don’t recognize a natural authority in his way of managing play and players (body language, mimic etc). The latter is also a matter of taste I admit.
Good job, but that’s it in my opinion.
