Law 5 - Statement

Having spoken as an administrative team, Chefren and I have decided to communicate the following statement.

* All comments regarding Norwegian refereeing on the relevant post have been deleted. We have kept a record of each comment.

* We take allegations of abuse VERY seriously and if any user would like to communicate that to us, you should go through the official channel and mail us using the contact form on the blog; of course, letting the relevant authorities know should be the first priority. We emphasise that it is a very delicate issue, and hence decisions about the presence of such information on the blog will be taken by the Law5 administrative team.

* It is too dangerous for us as a blog to condone allegations that could be seen as defamatory, without the required source(s) or evidence. For such talks, again, please reach us through the contact form and we can converse from that point. We do not want to eliminate whistle-blowing, but we find ourselves in a very tricky position legally, if we allow such comments without suitable citations.

* We are at the edge to again close the anonymous comment function. We are very reluctant to do this as it would punish readers such as RF, who's reports I am sure that everyone would agree our invaluable to the blog. I would strongly encourage RF to reach us on mail to create a contingency plan, we will do everything to keep anonymous comments, but our hands may be forced on that issue.

A final statement that should not be viewed on an ad hoc but rather holistic basis: we will NEVER tolerate anybody using this blog to play politics and we will ALWAYS act against such comments.

You have been warned.

Regards,
Chefren and Mikael
