  1. Slight correction Jarred Gillett is registered under England and not Australia on the fifa list

  2. If I'm not wrong Al Hakim, Strukan and Lechner didn't attend Winter Course in Rome two weeks ago; Right ?

    1. No, all three attended winter course.

    2. Ah OK sorry; so the only one missed winter course is Pinheiro

  3. Kehlet should be getting better games than this

    1. I would have expected to see him (and Jug) on 2nd legs, as they have experience and are 'safe pair of hands'

    2. I think that the clash Braga-Fiorentina requires a ''safe pair of hands'' in the first leg and the return. Unlik the game of Kehlet

Personally also happy to see Strukan again!

  4. Pawson does not know how to whistle Premier League and not even Conference League.

  5. Do you know why Jug has been replaced ? Injury, illness ? the whole team has been changed. IMO the match doesn't need an elite one

    2. Lufthansa had a massive IT outage yesterday and as a consequence lots of flights in the Frankfurt & Munich airports had to be put off or cancelled. Considering Portuguese media reports about 'logistics problem with the flight' as the reason of the replacement, I think it's likely that it's exactly what happened.

  6. An easy-going first half for Harald Lechner & Co. in Norway. One (correct) yellow card for SPA tripping in 34'.

    1. Still decent big picture (however, the game was really(!) easy) but it wasn't faultless in the second half. Lechner chose to not issue a perfect balancing YC to Bodø/Glimt's captain for SPA (and rejected mobbing in a very angry way) and later in the game at least two difficult-to-detect reckless offences went unpunished (illegal use of arm, studs challenge). One correct YC for reckless kick.

  7. In Baku, Al Hakim invited to OFR by Frankowski for handball penalty.
Player falling down and using arm as body's support, but it looked like a save.
Still absolutely impossible to have consistency with handballs, most of the people would say this is totally wrong decision (penalty then missed by player).

    2. Terrible decision, clear support arm. Portugal - Uruguay all over again.

    3. Indeed clearly wrong for me. He is not even seeing the ball - and of course, the arm is ther for body support.

    4. Absolutely wrong for me as well, a clear case of supporting arm IMO. I have to say I cannot understand the reasoning by Frankowski and Al-Hakim.

  8. OFR in Braga, changing YC in RC for SFP.

    1. Very good VAR intervention for me, a clear case of SFP: outstretched leg, studs shown, tackle just above the ankle with some serious force. I'd say it was a rather bad miss by Del Cerro, he seems to have had a clear view on the situation (from behind, yes, but still visible IMO).

  11. Very good Rumsas in Trabzon. It was an easy game all under control. One goal of Trabzonspor annulled by VAR. Very close. Can't blame AR2.

  12. Quiet first half for Strukan, good job so far. Really glad to see a Croatian ref a KO game after 7 years I believe (since the Bebek incident in Braga). Hoping to see more in the next years from Strukan because he is the best in Croatia IMO.

    1. Correct decision for me: high outstretched leg, contact with studs and significant/serious force included. No matter the slight contact on the ball, the offender clearly endangered the safety of his opponent IMO.

  14. Good decision to rescind RC on Sheriff Partizan

  15. 10 goals in 8 games - exciting competition ;)
But also meaning that together with EL 14 out of 16 pairings are still very open - so some challenges for the referees expected next week.
