Rosetti in Paris for the biggest match could mean somebody forecasted for the CL final: I would exclude Makkelie for the issues held last year with Paris' managers I would say Taylor or Marciniak. Or maybe some new name to be tested for top clash like as Gil Manzano or Jovanovic I would expect big names or big surpize also for Milan-Tottenham and Leverkusen-Monaco, while Manchester-Barcellona would see a consolidate name, I would say Orsato
Makkelie with one of his worst performances in recent years in the top match between Feyenoord and PSV. Extremely inconsistent in foul detection and card management, a match deciding really soft RC after VAR intervention and a ridiculous amount of added time. And maybe the worst thing: two times he forgot to stop play while a player was on the field with a head injury.
The RC seems completely correct to me. Unnecessary, strong force against the thigh. So for me both, excessive force and endangering the safety are fulfilled.
“luuk” could be the nick of PSV’s Luuk de Jong or he is a passionate supporter of the club in Eindhoven. Maybe not Makkelie’s best appearance ever, as bmb summarizes quite realistically beneath, but luuk’s opinion is that of a frustrated Eindhoven supporter.
Added time was very understandable, as PSV delayed massively (initiating confrontations as much as they could, goalkeeper delaying many restarts). And the red card, uhm, I’m not even going to comment on that… I invite all readers to make their own opinion:
Agree Philipp. Looked fairly innocuous in real time and normally when a player rolls 27 times, there's not much wrong with them. Nasty stud marks on his thigh though 3/4 of them bleeding which shows the level of force. The replays showed what a sneaky foul it was. As for the head injuries - the first one, where the player ended up stretchered off happened behind him as he followed play upfield - that one is on the 4O who should have alerted him. 2nd one he misjudged, I suspect partially because of the players reaction. He reacted as a player who was trying to con a decision from the ref. Wrong call ultimately though. Nowhere near the worst refereeing performance I have seen but not a typical confident Makkelie performance. His focus wasn't 100%, imo, and he missed some little things he'd not normally miss. Even the best have a not so good day at the office and today it was Makkelie's turn for that!
Rock solid piece of officiating from Massa in Milan's derby. Full control from the start to the end with a consistent disciplinary line. Furthermore he showed a strong display in player management and acceptance areas: the Italian visibly improved on those aspects in recent times. I'm quite curious to see his development at UEFA level in the next months.
I watched the match and full control indeed. Interesting to see how much he can achieve in the UEFA context in the next seasons. He will turn 42 this year so he still has few seasons left at the highest level.

The big and I think deserved surprise with Rosetti in that game would be Jovanovic.
