  3. So Collum is in Isreal, hence it should means that he hasn't been replaced by Peljito in CL. Pelijito was the 1st choice. Somebody yesterday announced Rohit Saggi for Partizan Nice, while now it's Madley. It's a pity, ot could have been a good opportunity for Norwegian football

    1. I doubt it. Delay and English VAR suggest a replacement in UCL.

    2. Maybe is not able to travel for a game on Wendsday for Collum, but on Thursday it is possible.

Can we not just wait for the official news

  5. Collum the only Elite in this set. Impossible to say if he was forced to officiate in this competition after a replacement or not.
Porras Ayuso with another Men's game with Cuadra.
    Important observer for Lindhout.

  7. Is it me or is Lindhout assigned a lot to team(s) from Eastern Europe?
It surprises me a bit, because the style is so different compared to the Dutch football.

    1. Isn't this part of a development program? Gain experience with the atmosphere and style of football in this part of Europe. Totally different indeed than in the Netherlands.

Would be good to see him also in a Southern European clash if he passes this test.

  8. (Some) Austrian referees seem to be in the doghouse again: Apart from Lechner (Europa League last week) no first group referee on the first two matchdays: Neither Schüttengruber nor Weinberger, therefore second group referee Gishamer with his debut in the Conference League. Maybe UEFA will rather focus on him (and maybe on Ciochirca who handled the U17 final this year).

    ReplyDelete

    1. IMO they should focus on Ciochirca. I see some talent in him.

      Delete
    2. i agree - saw his YCL yesterday in Munich. Good positioning, great communication skills and consitent football understanding

      Delete
    3. I had the hope that we could see Ciochirca directly in the Conference League on one of the first two matchdays after his U-17 final appointment but UEFA obviously wants to test him in youth tournaments furthermore. Given that we miss Schüttengruber and Weinberger who are both active in Austria (unless one of them was originally appointed for Arsenal - PSV which I doubt) and that Gishamer gives his debut in the club competitions, it seems that UEFA has no clear idea of who is/should become Austria's number 2 behind Lechner. I assume that also Altmann was ranked in front of Ciochirca when the last FIFA list was submitted one year ago ...

      Delete
    4. Gishamer is in the current Talent and Mentor program, so here is the UEFA answer.

      Delete
    5. Thank you for this information, Anonymous. Nice to read that UEFA is still trying to give Austrian referees a chance. Lechner and Schüttengruber do not seem to be candidates for further promotion. As for Weinberger, I do not know the reason for his absence so far.

  10. Good week for Lindhout. Nice match in Conference League and this weekend he will have his first "top match" in the Netherlands. He is in charge of PSV - Feyenoord. Numbers 3 and 2 in the ranking at the moment.

In the same weekend AZ (#4) and Ajax (#1) will face eachother with Nijhuis as referee.

    2. Min ‘25, it did not pass the line? Hard to see for assistent. Pk is supportable.
Not an easy game to referee with so many dissents, but at least there are two very experienced AR’s on his side.

      Delete
    3. Yeah, actually the Min. 25 it is a double request. Goal and penalty. Impossible to say if the ball crossed the line without Glt, I would rather say that it did not. I`m curious what would have been the decision with VAR as Glt.

      Delete
    4. first two incidents no pk for me
pk in third clip looks soft for me, but is acceptable

      Delete
    5. Incident No. 1: correct decision, not a penalty IMO. Ball hit his hand accidentally while he was falling and using that arm as support, we cannot blame the player for that.

Incident No. 2: I am 99% sure the ball did not cross the line (last replay is the best), of course impossible to be 100% sure without GLT. And what did they ask the penalty for? Handball from the same player which cleared the ball? If so, definitely nothing there.

Incident No. 3: Correct penalty IMO. The offender seems to be late in trying to clear the ball, so he "clears" the attacker who was faster.

      Delete
    6. 1) ultra-deliberate handball(!!), panic by defender as he lost balance and feared conceding an OGSO with attacker behind him, missed penalty and RC by ref/AR1 (when you have been in this situation on FoP yourself, you doesn't forget it! ;))
      2) have to trust well-positioned assistant referee
      3) perfect penalty decision, attacker cleverly makes a play for the ball before defender, and wins a careless kick off him; very good decision by Lindhout, can be hard situations to 'read'

      Delete
    7. I have to confess I never had a situation like in the first clip on the FoP myself, you are very correct in that statement. And you again encouraged me to watch an incident a few more times, like few days ago, and again: I understand exactly what you mean by those words. You didn't convince me the last time, but it seems to me I was wrong today, this really looks like a deliberate handball. It seems I was a bit naive and fooled by the player as well as the referee crew.

Thanks for mentoring me a bit here.

      Delete
    8. I think the 1st incident is the typical incident where a French ref would issue that brave RC, whereas a German/Dutch/English ref would argue that the guy stumbles, is not in control of his body and clumsiness is not punished. Imo both arguments can be backed, depending on the view of observer :D

  12. Big mess by Lindhout

  14. Supportable if not correct RC by Walsh for Vaduz GK. Arguments for both DOGSO and SFP.

  15. Early YC by Aranovskyi for Duda (Cologne), you could very well make the argument for RC for SFP.

  17. Not the best half for Verissimo so far, very soft penalty given to West Ham then in the similar incident no penalty for Silkeborg and disallowed goal for Silkeborg, foul against the keeper but again doubt it, looked very very soft. The Danes should feel very aggrieved

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Never in a million years, could there be a foul on Areola (WH goal keeper). He is a short and simply doesnt jump high enough. It happens shortly after a missed penalty. Understand a ref can call a 50/50 wrong. But how a ref/Verissimo can see and judge something (that is not happening) is beyond me. Extremely questionable/very poor performance and no wonder ref now booed when the 22 players are heading for HT.

      Delete
    2. The penalty for West Ham was soft.

Correct no-penalty call on Helenius (Silkeborg).

The disallowed goal for a free kick on the goalkeeper was a wrong decision - no question about it. The goalkeeper ran into the Silkeborg player.

  19. Stavrev could lose control in Riga if he's not careful. Correct penalty, but very delayed unconvincing signal. Quite a few confrontations towards the end of the half

  23. Hearts denied a 2nd goal. Wrong decision with offside

    1. Both penalties that were awarded in the match were correct awards, seems to me you are trying to start a witch-hunt against Collum!!
1st award- if keeper doesn’t wipe out attacker by clearly sweeping the right leg then attacker clearly getting to the ball.
2nd award- Clear trip on attacker after a good advantage!!

He is a excellent referee or he would simply not be there at all.
How many people who write against him .
Would like to be in his boots and being on the park with some off the world’s greatest football players in the game .
Instead of watching the game on Tv .
      He is there
      We’re others not been.——- A

  26. Game in Riga calmed down in the 2nd half, Stavrev produced several yellow cards. We weren't shown either of the ycs for the RFS coach but he was showing dissent the whole game. Good penalty decision and imo a more decisive second half performance

    ReplyDelete
  27. FCSB (ROU) - Anderlecht (BEL), Sebastian Gishamer (AUT)
The best word to describe his performance tonight is 'hesitant'. I watched the whole game and honestly I didn`t really liked what I saw. There are 2 big problems:

    Min. 29 - Penalty request FCSB: https://www.sport.ro/video/get-video/video_url_identifier/320590/video_player_div/videoPlayer/player_dimension/600X360/video_embed/1/article_category_url_identifier/EMBED/autoplay/off
Starting from 8:47 in this video, I don`t know why they haven`t cut it. Clear penalty, Gishamer gave a YC for dissent instead. The goalkeeper put the hand on the face of the striker... The last replay is the best, says it all.

    Min. 84 - Penalty request Anderlecht: https://www.sport.ro/video/get-video/video_url_identifier/320599/video_player_div/videoPlayer/player_dimension/600X360/video_embed/1/article_category_url_identifier/EMBED
Now this video is not long enough to show the replays from other angles. But it is an obvious miss even from live. They showed on tv from a camera near goal and it as even more obvious that it was an foul.

As a plus, it was a correct YC for diving in 11 min, I don`t have yet a video for that. But overall, an uninspired evening for the Austrian ref, inconstancy in decisions.

    1. Thx for the clips Matei! But contrary to Lindhout scenes, it seems (for me) that these links aren't working?

      Delete
    2. Both situations should be a penalty. especially the first situation with the goalkeeper is very clear and it is incomprehensible that the referee didn’t give a penalty.

      Delete
    3. I am surprised to see that these links are not working given that is the same website like in Lindhout game. I surely pasted them correct because for me they work. Does other users have the same problem that occurs to Mikael? I'll look for other videos in the afternoon then.

      Delete
    4. I had the same problem with the links yesterday, but I tried again today, doing exactly the same, and they miraculously work. No idea how.

Min. 29: Well, this seems to be a very clear penalty. I don't see any wrongdoings by the attacker, the GK was clumsy and tried to "repair the damage" by shoving the attacker to the ground. Maybe I'm missing something, but the reasons for play on by Gishamer are really beyond me. Seems like a pretty bad mistake.
Also, if the penalty had been whistled, what about the disciplinary sanction? I see arguments for DOGSO here, without a genuine attempt to play the ball.

Min. 84: Again, a clear penalty for me. The defender fell on the leg of the attacker trying to grab him and brought him down. Penalty + YC for SPA w/o genuine attempt to play the ball IMO.

    1. Excellent SPA call. Play going too far wide and player has no control after big touch. By time player gets the ball, it won’t be clear goal situation. Well done to Scottish referee 👏

    2. It’s a goal scoring opportunity. But not an OBVIOUS goal scoring opportunity. Great decision

    3. Good explanation, I agree, I like this obvious part. i think it is same wording as clear, this is not clear obvious goal situation just goal situation

    4. DOGSO for my taste. Other defenders too far away to intervene.

      • distance between the offence and the goal - some distance?
      • general direction of the play - towards corner flag
      • likelihood of keeping or gaining control of the ball - it’s probable
      • location and number of defenders - they would get back in time

  31. He was excellent! He positioned his self very well to make crucial decisions and he was always in communication with the players. He did 2 yellow cards, one for each team and both were correct. The first yellow card was a very good decision. The Partizan player clearly makes contact with the ball but the leg and studs make contact with the ankle after. A very solid performance from the English team in a tough atmosphere in Serbia
