    OT: The Liverpool controversy continues (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4smQDOTAMgg), but VAR is really in its infancy and better a mistake like this happens in a Premier League match than in a Champions League or World Cup knock out match. Liverpool is appealing Jones's red card (https://youtu.be/BHd9ln9-L3c?si=-yINPJIaT-6JZdoS&t=3) and some people are very upset about it, saying he slipped, etc., but his straight leg studs up forceful tackle could have injured the Tottenham player had not that player's own studs come out of the ground, allowing his leg to give way to the force of Jones's leg.

      Webb must manage this controversy carefully because IMO you can only blame VAR for his ridiculous mistake and not for Hooper, his decision was optimal and very supportable, if Webb/Refcom accept Liverpool appeal than I think we will face another political trouble for referee independency and influence for their decision on the field.

      I took a look at this game's incidents after the big discussions on the blog, well, the incredible mistake by Darren England about offside must be condemned without doubts, but after that it seems to me that most of people used this to add more-
      The RC intervention in first half is absolutely good call by VAR.
      The rest, normal situations like other games.
      Focus must be only on the unacceptable offside issue!

      Yes, it seems that a combination of people's lack of knowledge about the LOTG and society becoming more petulant in general is putting more and more pressure on referees.

      Bibiana Steinhaus is German.
      UEFA always reports the nationality of the officials, but in some cases they can work in different countries!

      Unluckily for Bulgarian crew, the RC for DOGSO is an evident mistake because fair tackle on the ball. The direction of the ball should have helped not only referee, but also AR, in making a correct decision. I think OK on the rest of crucial incidents, possible VC is the classic situation where you can't know if deliberate or not, then GOAL NO GOAL impossible to blame officials in all cases and the penalty is correct.
      But, definitely, several things to be rewatched about disciplinary control...
