Veľa štastia Ivan, uži si svoj debut na vrcholovom turnaji.
ReplyDeleteGood luck Ivan, enjoy your big tournament debut.
With the focus on EURO, as for now I just write a comment about that.
ReplyDeleteFIFA has announced the referees for Women's U20 WC in Colombia (31/08-22/09). It's interesting because there will be the trial of Football Video Support, a semplified version of VAR.

Orange kits debut
ReplyDeleteThat's bright red.
DeleteMatch could get challenging cause of the score and the way players did not accept Kruzliak as they should have.
ReplyDeleteSCO GK, second time in the match, delayed restart, still no YC, warming only
ReplyDeleteMissed clear YC for SCO10 IMO, only warming
ReplyDeleteGood YC 31´ for SWI13
ReplyDeleteWell spottet offsite by AR2. Almost looked on-site from some camera angles.
ReplyDeleteCorrect offside call (AR2), no goal
ReplyDeleteChallenging game for Kruzliak, he booked only when strictly needed, could have done that before, as reported in a comment above. But the way he showed the first card was a confirmation that he didn't want to do that before (blatant gesture like saying "no more").
ReplyDeleteVery good by AR2, crucial call, tight, and also a previous (not crucial) one correct, tight as well.
Good play on in Scottish penalty area, fair challenge IMO 43´
ReplyDeleteCan someone put a link to all the video clips of this match please.
ReplyDeleteI will later in the night :)
DeleteThank you appreciate it a lot.
DeleteIn summary good first half, two potentially YC in both acceptable warming, one clear YC, given. Only thing could be criticized IMO are two head collisions, both little bit late whistled, but only detail.
ReplyDeleteKruzliak really good imo so far
ReplyDeleteIn summary good first half, two potentially YC in both acceptable warming, one clear YC, given. Also great eye AR2, correct offside call. Only thing could be criticized IMO are two head collisions, both little bit late whistled, but only detail.
ReplyDeleteReally good 1st half IMO. Some might say there were a few missed YCs, however when issuing the 1st one, the line has been set and communicated to everyone quite clearly, so for now we can call it "game management". Let's see what the 2nd half brings up.
ReplyDeleteQuite challenging game for the Slovakian because of players behaviour. No real dissent but players constantly undermine his authority by waving hands after calls. Correctly rejected penalty appeal in 43'. I think 10SCO should've been booked for kick in the face in 10'.
ReplyDeleteGood performance in the 1H for me. Apart from the missed YC to SCO10 in 30', reported by MH_svk above, I don't think he made any other mistake. He decided to only warn the player in 31', but my preferred solution would be a YC. His foul detection is mostly good, and he had an excellent SPA-YC decision to SUI13 in 31', that one was mandatory IMO. All KMIs were solved correctly, including a potential penalty for SUI in 43' (correct play on for me). AR2 with an excellent job so far, especially in 33' with the cancelled goal of SUI for a really tight offside. Let's hope for a similar performance in the 2H.
ReplyDeleteMissed clear foul of SCO7, no card needed
ReplyDeleteWhy did the ref stop an important SCO play just cuz a Swiss player was down (his injury was not even remotely serious)
ReplyDeleteYC for SCO3 for dissent in 51´, not sure what exactly happened, replay in broadcast
ReplyDeleteIn the penalty area, cannot really play on with a prone player there
ReplyDeleteWhat happens if every promising attack ends with a defending player being down, open to misuse imho
DeleteAnd then YC shown to SCO player for a very light dissent following the decision
ReplyDeleteYC for SCO3 for dissent in 51´, not sure what exactly happened, replay in broadcast
ReplyDeleteWhy run the risk of a goal being scored with a defending player lying on the ground with a potential serious injury?
ReplyDeleteIvan couldn't see the footage we saw a few moments later.
It's easier to stop the game in that situation, in order to prevent a controversial outcome.
How is everyone discussing the injury management and ignoring that it was an extremely blatant undercutting foul leading up to it :D incredibly missed by Kruzliak (not the only foul recognition error in the 2H, too).
DeleteLOL. Get real, that wasn't a foul. Stop fanboying certain refs.
DeleteIt's not my intention to be Mikael's attorney, but frankly, it was a foul for me as well. In such a situation, with a player in the air, even a minimal contact can be enough to throw him off balance.
DeleteOverall: decent job by Kruzliak in this game.
Delete66' YC missed?
ReplyDelete66´ Good foul on the edge of penalty area, correctly outside of penalty area
ReplyDeleteAnd now great YC to SCO #26,maybe cooperation with 4th offic.
ReplyDeleteFor me probably more AR1, foul was on the offside line
DeleteHm, I am not so convinced about the foul itself. Could also be seen as mutual holding or even a foul by the attacker, who also had a strong grip on his opponent.
DeleteFor me probably more AR1, foul was on the offside line
DeleteAnother very light YC shown to McKenna from SCO. So far huge protection for SUI players from the Slovak ref.
ReplyDeleteNot sure about the YC 68', looked like mutual holding to me
ReplyDeleteExactly. Awful second half officiating so far.
DeleteIt's not mutual holding, really. The defending player is much more at fault. He was holding first and more strongly. The attacker reacted by very slightly grabbing the defender's jersey. Expected YC, well seen by the referee crew.
DeleteTwo yellow cards for less than the one on the edge of the box at 66...
ReplyDeleteVery well put.
DeleteKruzliak is slowly but surely losing control of the match
ReplyDeleteI think this ref defo is not EURO standard.
ReplyDeleteYou are a great fan of hyperbole!! He has done ok in his debut game
DeleteFans not happy with kruzliak in stadium in the second half. I can understand why - losing control and foul detection very poor so far in the second half.
ReplyDeleteI must add the game would be quite challenging anyway without the presence of the referee due to the nature of the game. I think Kruzliak could have performed better with improved man management skills.
DeleteDisagree. Not the best performance but quite difficult game.
ReplyDeletesee reply thanks
DeleteSorry, your comment came between the two I was responding to. You are not aimed
DeleteNo problem!
DeleteShould be sent packing after this game IMHO.
ReplyDeleteLove to be your line manager at work and assess you as harshly!!
DeleteVery surprised by some of these harsh comments. I came here to say that Kruzliak has been doing a very good job! The 68' and 71' yellow cards are spot on, as well as the foul outside the penalty area (no card needed) at 66'.
ReplyDelete68' was not even a foul.
DeleteHe won't make knock outs because he was never going to make knock outs. He is there to learn and gain experience; tonight's game will assist his development
ReplyDeleteI would like to see him have a chance in a second group game, in which he has the chance to fight for a R16 game. I hope UEFA gives him that opportunity.
DeleteAgree! I thought that was more than acceptable performance in a very difficult game
Deletethere's no chance he will be assigned to another game mate
DeleteI think he won't get another game. Just my two cents.
DeleteWhy is my comment being deleted? Merely saying I think he won't get another game. That's all. Chefren please don't delete it...
DeleteI really don't think he's going to get another game really
Delete“Very difficult game” is going way too far IMO. Normal difficulty really. Wait for the Copa America and maybe we will see some “very difficult” games. No games at the EUROs have come anywhere close and I don’t think any will.
DeleteGreat eye AR1, good offside goal canceled 82´
ReplyDeleteFinally a YC for a SUI player. Should have been way more!
ReplyDeleteVery soft.
DeleteNo.
DeleteI´m not sure if he didn't show persistent infringement
Delete85' really should be a yellow for Delaying the Restart OR Dissent by Action, the latter especially if we are clamping down on dissent.
ReplyDeleteAgree,as we saw this trend in PL this season.
DeleteExactly why PL should never be considered the standard of refereeing 🙏
Delete4 added seems light given we had a stretcher on the pitch along with the subsitutions and offside check
ReplyDeleteGood performance by Kruzliak, but Excellent job of his assistants. I like what they do!
ReplyDeleteGood job by both ARs.
ReplyDeleteAgree with Daniel. Questionable time management. Lengthy stoppage for Tiernay injury, VAR checks and substitutions. 4 minutes additional time a bit puzzling and in such a tight game with group placings crucial important to calculate the additional time correctly.
ReplyDeleteI didn't make notes on the games today but was able to watch them in more detail than the matches before; so, for what it is worth, how I saw the three performances.
ReplyDeleteLetexier: Good job, but in my view the comments here exaggerated it. At first, it was absolutely a normal difficulty game, only the ends of both halves became slightly delicate. In a harder match, the Frenchman could have been tripped up by two things: 1) management of injuries, two instances of Albanians acting in 'bad faith' by pretending to be injured at the end of the first half, then an Alb player (very likely) exaggerating an injury to get play stopped in the 2H, most interestingly then it seemed Croatia cottened on and there was an incident in 65' when Albania were denied a very promising 1-on-1 as Letexier stopped play for a (rather non-)injury when a Croatian defender went down; and, 2) foul recognition at least partly being determined by player reaction, Sutalo’s alledged offence at 83’ being a perfect example, this was NOT spa, it wasn’t a foul, Albania player ‘pinned’ himself to his opponent in order to win the freekick. Not perfect/outstanding/etc; in a harder game (such as Guinea-Indonesia… :P), this costs you. BUT: overall a good job without question today.
Makkelie: I found his performance, generally, in accordance with the level of his refereeing this season. Personally I would view this (www.streambug.io/cv/76681d) 5min spell in the first half very critically: missed foul before goal, botched reentering mgmt, two missed yellow cards for tactical fouls. I retain my view on 38’, Hungary were pretty unlucky in added time not to get sth! Hand to ball, but I wouldn’t be sure even Italian VMOs would have sth to say there. I don’t think there is too much to add; let’s see how the Dutchman progresses with the next assignment.
Kruzliak: Usual fare from Slovakian! The battle for him in every game is to not become passive, a passenger to the match and let too much go and lose a grip on the match (problem for him throughout his career). To this ends, I think Kruzliak started the game with TOO much energy! The amount of tension that he put in his gestures when admonishing Sco no.10 — between offences at 10’ and 29’ he should have received a yellow card — was quite noticeable, even a bit over the top, in my view. The ‘usual’ drop in technical accuracy came in the second half (impossible to keep up what he was trying to do in the 1H!!), especially early on, but also in eg. careless foul wrongly given as a caution in 86’. Overall, the Slovakian equipped himself relatively well and deserves a passing grade (≈8,2) but the weaknesses of the refereeing in this match were more obvious than in most of the others so far imo.
And indeed the high level of the Slovakian linesmen shouldn't go unmentioned, very well played by Branislav Hancko and Jan Pozor, following in the footsteps of the great names Sramka (rip :/) and Slysko.
DeleteDecent, leaning towards good, performance for me. After a positive 1H, a somewhat shaky 2H with some issues in foul detection, but nothing major, at least for my taste. Disciplinary management was average IMO, with missed YCs for SCO10 in 30' and SUI5 in 66', while those for SCO26 in 68' and SUI16 in 86' can be considered as supportable, although I understand the discussion about the one in 68' (IMHO, holding by the defender was more decisive in this instance, but I accept the opposite arguments). On the other hand, a good, but also mandatory YC was given to SCO7 for SPA in 71'; I'm glad Kružliak didn't miss this one, as it would have been a big mistake otherwise. All KMIs were solved correctly IMO, there were no issues in this aspect.
ReplyDeletePlayers' behaviour was somewhat "on edge", with many of them undermining the referee's authority. There was one YC given for dissent IIRC, to SCO4 in 51', but his management could/should have been more effective, and I cannot deny that some dubious foul calls in the 2H frustrated the players a bit. However, at least for me, it was far from bad. Lastly, both ARs with a very good performance: both of them had one correct offside decision to cancel a SUI goal: AR2 in 33' and AR1 in 82'.
To sum up, I think my first sentence in this comment summarises this performance well. There are certainly areas for improvement, but I don't find any reason to describe it as "bad", quite the contrary.
I imagine Scotland v Hungary will necessitate a higher profile referee
ReplyDeleteIts clear Ceferin and his referee department cronies do not want man-management on the field.
ReplyDeleteAsk a question and you get a yellow.
The S**te will hit the fan when the red cards from two yellows start flowing.
