GEOCZE - Siebert, PORTUR - Zwayer, BELROM - Marciniak.
ReplyDeleteGEOCZE : Siebert (4th: Peljto / VAR: Fritz)
ReplyDeleteTURPOR: Zwayer (4th: Gil Manzano / VAR: Dankert)
BELROM: Marciniak (4th: Rumsas / VAR: Kwiatkowski)
So, the observers do not remain in the same city. Because Zwayer will be with de Bleeckere, not with Webb.
ReplyDeleteZwayer already made his first appearance in Dortmund and was observed by Webb.
DeleteI can understand giving Zwayer a tougher test, could have avoided a same city too and saved Zwayer for a bit later IMO.
DeleteStrange choice as Marciniak could have taken that appointment with Webb.
I actually had Manzano on Zwayer's game.
Think it's looking clearer that Marciniak, Taylor, Siebert & Manzano potentially on last day of MD3.
I don't understand what is the problem with officiating a second game in the same city, to be honest, that's something 100% unimportant as factor for making an appointment...
DeleteIt's not a problem - just a strange to move an observer when the others remain in the same city and there could have been no issue with Marciniak on Zwayers game.
DeleteWell... DFB will not use Zwayer in Dortmund for the near future so at least that's some kind of compensation ^^
DeleteI'd guess MD 3 Group A looking like Tello on one match - possibly Ger v Swi as Germany qualified and looking good for Switzerland with the goal deficit to qualify too.
ReplyDeleteHotter game could be Sco v Hun and I'd guess an Italian with Orsato being my choice.
At least two referees will have only one match in Group Stage. Who? Please share your thoughts, as I have absolutely no idea. Is it possible some referees will advance to KO stage with only one GS match?
ReplyDeleteYes, I could imagine Marciniak getting a R16 match directly.
DeleteSiebert would be a candidate for one match only, but he should still have the chance to avoid that with a good performance on Saturday. Guida is probably the other option for that.
Or maybe even Gil Manzano, if UEFA thinks that he had the least stable performance (in the most difficult game) so far.
I can't imagine Turpin being completely rejected.
Everyone else had a good first game and/or already their second appointment.
I think you are right about Guida. Now he has been appointed FO in GS3 game, which supports your analysis.
DeleteBusy days for Marco Fritz:
