Wow stopping play because GK of BEL put his bottle next to the goal post and not out of field of play. I don't think I have ever seen that. But important of course.
ReplyDelete14' PAI after corner. Both players get a hold on players. But in both cases not enough. And you can't add 2 half penalty fouls together ofc. So no PK CD.
ReplyDeleteClear pushing action 17'. Off the ball. No YC given, solved via management. I think good choice not to go for YC.
ReplyDeleteClear faul in the 30 min. against Lukaku. Late call, i think the first AR helped Taylor
ReplyDeleteClear first YC BEL4. Late tackle, reckless
ReplyDeleteAlthough not the usual management for a final candidate, I think Taylor is putting himself in contention to be the current favourite, hopefully back to top form. Everything correct first half except one throw 37th minute
ReplyDeleteMissed offside by AR2 at the end of 1H, but ball went out for goal kick anyways so no big deal.
ReplyDeleteThey didn’t miss it, they let it go because it went out for a goalkick (as seen as the thumbs up Taylor and the AR2 gave each other).

DeleteWell spotted.
Well I thought something like that, but wasn't sure. Either way I think it doesn't really matter in the end
DeleteI don't agree tbh. Missed foul yes, YC yes. But RC doesn't seem right here. No high intensity, studs on foot. I don't think this should ever be RC.
ReplyDeleteMissed FK + YC. Nothing more for me.
ReplyDeleteyellow for onana, red card not enough because onana play the ball first

ReplyDeleteVery good advantage after wait and see principle 67'. He waited an awfull long time, but very nice advantages.
ReplyDeleteI'm not totally convinced by Taylor after the first 70 minuites. Some good advantages, 67' was very impressive. But for my taste, too many phantom fouls whistled where almost zero contact, and two yellow cards missed. Onana in first half was a very dark yellow for me
ReplyDeleteVery strong step on foot, more unlucky because opponent was making that movement. Said that, RC would have been supported by VAR, but I can agree not a clear and obvious mistake to miss it.
ReplyDeleteVery good Taylor! The missed YC for Onana was hard to spot, everything else perfect. In full control
ReplyDeleteI agree with your overall impression, especially as the most visible mistake remains the missed (dark) YC to BEL24 in 39'. It's actually a pretty bad miss considering it was really close to SFP, but I still think the expected decision is YC, as the studs contact remained mostly on foot and the offender was a bit unlucky in this whole situation. There was also a possible YC in 50' (BEL22, step on foot), although it's possible to support Taylor due to it not being a full step (my personal preference is YC, but OK). Of course, I agree with you about a possible YC for simulation to BEL11 in 90+1', although the existence of a minimal contact can probably save Taylor from any real blame (but I would certainly prefer such behaviour to be punished). Two YCs given were more than correct: 43' (BEL4, reckless tackle) and 69' (UKR11, LoR).
ReplyDeleteFoul detection was somewhat of a mixed bag IMO, with some really nice play ons and advatages (e. g. 67' for BEL), but also some soft (66', in favour of UKR) and even some plainly wrong (10', in favour of BEL) fouls given. It has, unfortunately, been Taylor's issue for some time now. In terms of PAIs, besides the aforementioned 90+1' situation, there was also a potential penalty for UKR in 14', with two possibles infringements in the same situation, but I'd argue none were actually worthy of a PK.
All in all, I think your conclusion is optimal to grade this performance by Taylor.
Can we get all the video clips of the games please?
