KNVB has revealed Gözübüyük as referee for the WC qualifying game Italy - Bulgaria, VAR will be Van Boekel.
ReplyDeleteAddition: AVAR Rob Dieperink is highly regarded by the KNVB as VAR and has already worked in many domestic top games. From my point of view, he is also maturing as a referee and will be whistling more at Eredivisie this year.
DeleteKNVB has revealed a confidential appointment: Serdar Gözübüyük will officiate Italy - Bulgaria on 2 September, WC Qualifier, the new course with VAR.
ReplyDeleteAre there rules about revealing appointments by national FAs?
DeleteRoma - Fiorentina, RC for DOGSO:

VAR supported. Your opinion?
RC for me. I think without the foul the attacker would have reached the ball and without a goalkeeper, this would be an excellent goal scoring opportunity.
DeleteNot a 100% DOGSO situation, but it is a quite good decision IMO.
DeleteEven if the ball and the attacker were moving to the sideline, the fact that GK is no longer in position is enough to assess this as a OGSO.
I believe VAR would've supported YC for SPA as well.
Definitely no RC. The attacker would have had trouble getting in control of the ball in time to score.
DeleteDOGSO in my opinion and red card for the goalkeeper. The attacker was running for scoring goal. Anyway I really don't like Pairetto's gestures on the field
DeleteI hardly see any foul here tbh. There is a slight contact on the foot, but the attacker can put his foot down to the ground stably and in full control. After that, he mostly falls on his own accord.
DeleteWhen whistling it, Red is still harsh IMO - the attacker is not in full control of the ball and moves rather towards the corner.
It needs more for a sending-off than that IMO.
Nonetheless, nothing the VAR should intervene for.
Nota RC for me, I'm sure the italian media will not be happy with that, comparing it to the RC Stieler gave against Atalanta.
DeleteAtalanta - Real Madrid was indeed mentioned by some people!
DeleteGood guess, David. Most of fans don't accept this red card.
You simply cannot compare the two situations - in Atalanta - Real the foul was committed by a defender and here by the goalkeeper behind who there is an empty net.
DeleteYou are right 3303, I was just trying to say, that since that incident in from Stiler, I had the impression that the italian fans and media have a high bar for DOGSO red. (When the ball rolls wide) Often times, when you take a forensic look at it and stop the play at the time of the foul, you can make a case for DOGSO, even if for the human eye in real time, DOGSO red seems harsh.
DeleteEredivisie: PSV - Heracles
ReplyDeleteHow should we determine the "impact" of offside offence?
The next case is obvious to me an offside offence (interfering with an opponent).
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4yznFOei9Jc&feature=youtu.be&a
・The attacking player is clearly in an offside position.
・The ball is passing near the player in an offside position.
・The player in the offside position is close to the impacted opponent (keeper).
・The player in the offside position is trying to play (or avoid) the ball.
Doesn't it meet all these conditions? Or isn't it close at this distance?
Remarkable clip of referee that made a mistake with advantage

They didn’t score anyway.
DeleteDenmark - Scotland (1 September)
ReplyDeleteBenoît Bastien - Hicham Zakrani, Aurélien Berthomieu - Jérémie Pignard
Sweden - Spain (2 September)
Anthony Taylor - Gary Beswick, Adam Nunn - Craig Pawson

Napoli - Venezia
ReplyDeleteRC for violent conduct.
VAR supported referee decision.
https://streamable.com/uaenr3
Spot on decision IMO by the referee; the player strikes out at the opponent and hits him in the face.
DeleteIt is a weid movement and I can't say the offender is just trying to keep distance with his opponent. So for me RC is the right decision. I don't know what Osimhen is trying to do. For me the question is, if VAR should have intervend, if the offence was seen by the referee but not deemed RC worthy. What is your oppinion Chefren, and the fans reaction?
DeleteIn my opinion the player didn't want to commit a violent conduct, he was just clumsy in hitting opponent in face, I have the impression he wanted to push him away due to the previous action. But... the movement he made with hand resulted in a very clear slap on face, so referee decision to assess it as deliberate act can't be denied.
DeleteToday has been officially announced that player will get 2 machdays ban for "deliberate slap on face to opponent".
Fans are angry, the team has already confirmed that they will present an appeal. I will inform you about the continuation of this story!
I didnt like it myself when I had to comment Orsato fitness at EURO, but it was really obvious issue and understandable topic on this blog. Lets see how he performs today. The game could potentially be hot, with favorite team loosing by a big margin and I guess there will be a huge pressure in every debatable situation from the home team and fans.
ReplyDeleteAny comments about 1Hs?
ReplyDeleteExcellent offside by Giallatini in Zagreb. Min 76
ReplyDeleteIs this first time we have only one comment for the Champions league matches? I guess everything went well tonight for Orsato, Taylor and Del Cerro :).
ReplyDeleteSorry if it was already discussed and I missed it, but any idea what happened to Grinfeeld? My guess is that one of referees with double appointments is a replacement for him (Kabakov or Oliver), but ot would be nice to know what is the reason to be replaced.
Honestly I do not pay attention to playoff matches but yes, I also guess all referees have good performance tonight
DeleteI think UEFA deliberately didn't appoint Grinfeld who was (very) weak in three games within short period of time: Rangers - Slavia (lost control, max 7.7 performance), very poor foul detection (+ clear penalty only after OFR) in NED-AUT at EURO2020, someone also reported here that he lost control in KOR-MEX(?) at Olympics. So bearing that all in mind I don't think he deserved the play-off appointment in this moment of his career.
Delete@ESR - Grinfeld awarded a de facto wrong penalty in KORMEX (https://streamable.com/c724o3) and in the ten-or-so minutes which I watched, was struggling to keep a hand on everything.
DeleteIn addition, the Israeli's performance in Ludogorets vs. Olympiakós was reported as a poor one, especially in one penalty scene. So - I hope that Grinfeld can recover his form in the coming months!
I watched the last 50 minutes of a very good Shakhtar vs. Monaco match. I thougt Taylor did very well, fit as always and he had the respect from all the players. He had a possible penalty to assess (Dodo vs. someone) and I think he was right not to call a PK. A few good advantages in there aswell.
ReplyDeleteI watched the whole 90' of Shakhtar - Monaco (not the extra time) and I can confirm that Taylor was very good. He correctly issued a YC on Golovin (ASM) for simulation (72') and correctly waived away a penalty appeal again for ASM.
DeleteDisciplinary control was very good despite the high amount of cautions.
AR1 with a mistake on the first half on a missed offside.
