  1. SYC issued by Mykola Balakin in the Slovan vs. Lincoln Red Imps game (DtR):

    1. Clearly, he hadn't realized that player was already booked.
It is a similar issue to Jovanović game at Olympics, second YC fully correct according to book, but maybe not 100% wise refereeing.
A warning? Trying to better manage situation? Was that a mandatory YC? These questions should be asked.

    2. Shooting the ball at the crowd is a minumum yellow card. And add delaying the restart. Yellow card is mandatory there.

    3. IMO this action by the SLO player is a mandatory yellow card, even if the player has already been booked.

  2. Good RC by Visser in Alashkert FC (ARM) - FC Qaırat Almaty (KAZ)

    2. I think it's second yellow cards, not straight red card

    3. Yes, correct, but it seems in the same minute.
I'm very curious. Looks like a brave officiating by Visser.

    4. An easy way to draw attention to yourself.

    6. I think Lawrence Visser will go far.
For me he can make his CL debut in the group stage and will be promoted to the Elite within 2-3 years.
Frank De Bleeckere has found his successor, Belgium deserves to have a referee at the highest level again whistle at UEFA.

    7. Mathias, It can't be that your conclusion follows from the video of today's match.

    8. Excellent red card for SFP, positioning helped him!
About second YC, it looks like first YC for the foul and then straight red card? Not clear. UEFA says two yellow cards, but I see only one shown.

  3. Crazy couple of minutes for Treimanis.

1st big decision was allowing St Johnstone's goal, imo there was foul on GK, there were some protests from Galatasaray, but he let the goal to stay.

2nd one was deciding between SPA or DOGSO to Galatasaray player.
His decision was SPA and YC.

    1. From watching the replays again I have to say no foul - both attacker and GK close the gap between them and bounce off each other, but the ball drops out of the air nearer to the St Johnstone player and the GK is flapping.

    2. No foul, just a howler by Galatasaray GK.

Also supportable YC for me, I think that Marcao is probably the last man but ball is too far away from DOGSO zone.

    1. I expect referees like Schärer, Kulbakov, Kruzliak, Collum, Grinfeld, Jovanovic and Peljto among the candidates to 'fill the gaps'

    3. One point for discussion is surely Hategan, who will miss CL play off. I really don't know what to think about the Romanian, committee doesn't have a 100% trust in him, but this story that Romanian federation is still without VAR must surely play a role, in my opinion.

    4. Yes, and similar question about Oliver. After the successful EURO, one would have hoped, he can continue that in the club competitions, but this is not a good appointment for him (given he gets no additional CL PO).

    5. Now complete:
      Crvena Zvezda-Cluj: Kabakov/Oliver
      Celtic-AZ: Hategan/Martins
      Slavia-Legia: Zwayer/Soares Dias
      Omonoia-Antwerp: Ekberg/Treimanis
      Randers-Galatasaray: Gil Manzano/Kulbakov
      Mura-Sturm Graz: Oliver/Sánchez Martínez
      Fenerbahçe-HJK: Bastien/Kruzliak
      Glasgow Rangers-Alashkert: Sidiropoulos/Stieler
      Olympiacos-Slovan: Guida/Aytekin
      Rapid Wien-Zorya Luhansk: Schärer/Kovács

      Delete
    6. Now a double appointment for Oliver.

      Delete
    7. Not only Oliver, but also Jovanović and Pawson (ECL) Thiago Martins and Kabakov (EL + ECL)
