    Faghani has 1 issue. He whistles way too much. It gets annoying.

      Agree. However, never an issue of any import in this first half. Nothing for him, crew, or VAR's to do other than keep up with play. Even the fouls whistled aren't much of anything. :)

      Even in this match before the corner kick. But in a tough game Faghani puts on a whistle festival.

      Maybe Pitana could dislodge Guillermo Coria as my favourite Argentine by Sunday evening :-).
      Williams - Kerber should be better than my nation in 3/4 playoff.

    Some chatter about end of first half. Belgium won a corner 20 seconds prior to end of half. They took their sweet time getting ball. Faghani wisely whistled end of half with ball in corner arc -- a small subtle message to tell them not to waste time like this. He did blow it 2 seconds before "TV time" reached 45'+2. :)

    All four games Faghani had are the same, with slow intensity and with well behaving players. Normal games that are easy to manage. I wonder how Faghani would act in the games like Kuipers, Cakir or Mazic had in this tournament (CHI-BRA, NGR-ARG, BRA-BEL)?

      About Pitana, in my opinion the most difficult moment to manage in his games was the start of a possible mass confrontation in the second half of URU - FRA. For sure, Faghani was more challenged, especially in FRA - ARG. Of course, this is not exclusive merit or fault for a referee, but you must see how players act in every game.

      For Pitana- none. He will have first intense game tomorrow.
      FRA-ARG had 15-20 minutes where referee was challenged, and I think that he was struggling there.
      My point: UEFA referees who took the hardest games on this tournament didn't get the final 2 games.

    Think you will find there have been 3 or 4 times he has missed a subtle trip or hold for BOTH sides. One thing I have never been is biased and i resent that comment

    Nothing is more boring that 3rd place match (None difference for history, The players didnt have the same motivation, for referee is equal). Excuse me, There are one thing more boring: Mazic serbians fans, and this english band playing the same melody in all England matches (desgusting).

    An expected level performance in another easy game.
    Still no VAR involvements, no red cards. Very fair behavior by players almost in every game at this WC.

      6.5 (if you'd believe it). These are the opening sentences, and among the most biting comments...

      Referee Djamel Haimoudi had a satisfying control of the match, but in fact this was the only positive points of his performance.


      The disciplinary control was far away from an expected level and it has remarkable points for improvements.


      The performance must be marked as unacceptable because, apart from the crucial mistakes made (missing RC for DOGSO and two missed penalty kicks in second half), the referee also failed in his first aim to protect players, being unable to assure a decent card management regarding certain fouls.

      IMO the Molten Valkeen whistle is overpriced and overrated.
      Any decent whistle can be made to sound great if you have good technique.

      I personally own a variety of whistles:
      Acme Tornado 2000 (My Favorite)
      Dinsport Devastator
      Fox 40 Sonik Blast
      Acme Tornado (Tubular Design)
      Balilla Micro
      Acme Tornado (Original)

      Based on videos that I've seen on YouTube. I like the tone it produces. It nicely combines the sounds of the Original Fox 40 and the Sonik Blast.

    Don’t buy the fuzion is my advise, really difficult to work with, sound is nice in video, but in real really hard to get good! Sonik Blast, and molten Valkeen are my favorites, Fuzion is large also! And more difficult in compare to al the other whistles i have

    Another good whistle.... and much cheaper from Molten....is Dolfin! Tone is almost same with Valkeen, but Dolphin is 7 Euro, and valkeen is 49, Dolphin produces 115 DB, same like Fox40

      Most off the time i have 2 whistles with different tones.... that's because i'm a clubreferee for 10 years now, and our club has multiple pitches, if another ref uses the same whistle i use, i can easely change, so no confusing for the players, i have a classic acme thunder, but also sometimes Fox40, Molten Valkeen, Sonik Blast, or Dolfin, the fisrt whistle i used 10 years ago was was the Molten Dolfin (the original one), don't need to blow really hard in it, actually fox40 is more difficult than Dolfin

      That's why I like the tubular design Acme Tornado. It has a unique sounds that sets it apart.

      I suggest you give the Acme Tornado T200 whistle a try. It's not an expensive whistle and it sounds great.
