    1. And the third time this season with PSG-Real on MD1.
      Quite unusual in this aspect.

    2. If I remember correctly in that last PSG game he did there was a VAR intervention and a mismanaged melee. Hmmmm interesting.

    3. I want to thank Dr Emu a very powerful spell caster who help me to bring my husband back to me, few month ago i have a serious problem with my husband, to the extend that he left the house, and he started dating another woman and he stayed with the woman, i tried all i can to bring him back, but all my effort was useless until the day my friend came to my house and i told her every thing that had happened between me and my husband, then she told me of a powerful spell caster who help her when she was in the same problem I then contact Dr Emu and told him every thing and he told me not to worry my self again that my husband will come back to me after he has cast a spell on him, i thought it was a joke, after he had finish casting the spell, he told me that he had just finish casting the spell, to my greatest surprise within 48 hours, my husband really came back begging me to forgive him, if you need his help you can contact him with via email: Emutemple@gmail.com or add him up on his whatsapp +2347012841542 is willing to help any body that need his help.

  2. I guess this was an expected appointment, Soares as fourth official makes sense.
Regarding observers, since Dallas and Batta are in Germany I expected Rosetti and Sajn in Portugal.

  3. First CL Quarterfinal for Taylor after his first CL round of 16 (PSG - Dortmund)

  4. Nikola Dabanović appointed in Saudi Pro League today, in Abha vs Al Nasr. He’s posted it himself ob social media.

Peljto and Dabanović handling both their first games with VAR in action, could that possibly mean that both will make their (deserved) CL group stage debut next season?

    2. IMO Oliver is very lucky to have an EL QF considering his mistakes all these years and the management of the infamous RM-JUV.

  11. Hello guys,

how do you expect that Taylor will manage this game? Like he did in Inter-Getafe with only 1 YC at 90' and closing his eyes to all the possible situations that he could give YCs as well during the entire game?
Atalanta and PSG, besides being 2 amazing teams, are 2 teams that can make some trouble to referees as well. How do you expect his management of cards in this tuff game?

    2019 Madrid - Skomina
    2018 Kiev - Mazic
    2017 Cardiff - Brych
    2016 Milano - Clattenburg
    2015 Berlin - Cakir
    2014 Lisboa - Kuipers
    2013 London - Rizzoli
    2012 Munich - Proença
    2011 London - Kassai
    2010 Madrid - Webb

    2020 Lisboa - ????

  13. Not Lahoz. Very lenient referee. I respect, but I dont like his style. Better to have Marcinaik or to give the second UCL FINAL TO SOMEBDOY DO TO SITUATION, LIKE TAYLOR RECIVED SECOND FA CUP IN ENGLAND.

    1. And we all know how Taylor's second final went...

    2. I'd give Skomi another final and if there's a Spanish team in final maybe Rosetti will think about it...

      Delete
    3. Of course you would...
That will never happen, that would be 2 years in a row.
If someone gets a second final Brych would be my prediction (if there is no German team in the final).

    4. Would you have imagined the final at Frappart?
      We'll see...

    5. No need to recycle, I think there are few good candidates for both finals.

    6. Who, if no Lahoz?
Marciniak? Orsato? Taylor? Turpin? A committee have a problem...

    7. No problem for committee at all, Bjorn Kuipers will handle his 2. CL final. Mark my words!

  14. Minute 12': not the best timing by AR1 to raise the offside flag, it was a borderline situation (not clear), very good that Taylor waited a bit before whistling.

  15. Off topic, but if you have the opportunity to study the latest RAP (2020:1) please check situation D.12 (holding section).
A very similar situation as the holding in Manchester-Copenhagen, where Manchester was awarded a penalty. UEFA assessed D.12 as no penalty, so I guess we also know how the Shakhtar penalty will be assessed.

  17. 2 matches in couple of days for Taylor, and not the same style in those two matches.
In Inter-Getafe , very lenient and tolerable.
Today, lot of bookings, some were too soft IMO, so we saw two different versions of Taylor in couple days.

    1. Indeed no talk about the refereeing tonight, and considering the KO stage so far that’s something we may be very happy with!

But management wise I expect a little more from a top elite referee. Investing more in player management/communication would have saved him a couple of cards I dare to say.

But no complaints, no discussion about the ref so we can be satisfied :)

    3. Nice Sheriff to have you back and of course we haven’t forgotten about your oldfashioned view of refereeing. But nowadays of course top referees have to have some psychological skills and have to be able to manage the behavior of players.

Apart from that it’s a pitty you explain my words in a wrong way, suggesting I would promote close friendships between referees and players and ignoring fouls which deserve disciplinary sanction.
What I do mean is that by actively managing players a referee can prevent actions/fouls deserving a sanction.

Today I did not see such officiating, but that’s only an observation. All in all it was a good performance without controversies, so no complaints.

  18. Taylor very good so far. He opted for "oldschool" style which is not his usual. Maybe a bit "alibi refereeing", but I think it is wise.

  23. I think, there should have been one minute more added on. The goal was scored approx. at +2:00, the game continued approx. at +4:00, then Thiago Silva was down for another minute. So the 5 minutes of injury time should have become 8 and not 7.

  27. Anthony Taylor performance has been perceived as very good by Italian press, they report that he did very well if compared to Zwayer and Cakir (the referees involved in the other games with Italian teams). I can simply add that if you give yellow cards when it is needed and you easily do what you have to do, people appreciate that. A missed YC is always something more difficult to accept. Basically, refereeing under the disciplinary point of view is not difficult but many referees make it more difficult by making the choice of being lenient. That's my point of view.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Referees make that choice because they noticed that lenient referees get better appointments, so they want to advance their careers. However, everyone has different skills and personality.

  29. As atalanta fan, I have to say that Taylor had a great performance yesterday. All YC were right, he had the control of the game and players respected him. If we would only have more referees like him in Italy, we would see better matches and more competition in serie A. The only one at this level in Italy is Orsato, who is the only who doesn't care about players and team names.

    1. I would tell you one thing. Italian referees are best in top 5 leagues. Do not compare them with english referees, becouse its like comparing messi wtih some in full of respect third league player.

      Delete
    2. I don't agree with this. We have a couple of top referees in Italy and nothing more, unfortunately...
And speaking about elite uefa referees Orsato is the only one deserving it.
We had two English referees in our Champions League campaign (Oliver and Taylor) and I would wonder to find such referees in our Serie A. They simply whistled when needed and showed cards when needed. Also we had a couple of German, Kulbakov, Hategan, Grinfeld, Gil Manzano and Karasev and all of them were in my eyes much more better than Italian not based on a single decision but in a general way of refeering a match

      Delete
    3. In the history, England has one excellent and one good referee, Clatts and Web. In the history, Pairetto,Collina, Rizzoli, Farina, Orsato l. Hey, thats more than good. Use of Var is totally better in Serie A than in Pl. So, nobody talk that English referees are not good. They are just not better than Italians.
