ReplyDeleteThe difference is that this is 1st round match and in Russia it was deciding match in 3rd round. Luckily Serbia-Switzerland won't be a clone match, because Brych is not there!

DeleteI can close the discussion (hopefully!) by saying that everyone forgets that after an excellent start Brych struggled generally in the 2H (of a tough game) and in the end his rejection was justified.

DeleteInteresting that FIFA avoided to pair Frappart with team Turpin and appointed her for the other game in the same group between a UEFA and a Non-UEFA team instead.
ReplyDeletePortugal - Ghana is a match that can easily turn into a feisty, combative, fiery encounter. As we all know, Portugal has played a part in multiple matches in which renowned referees absolutely crumbled. Beath erroneously attempted to use his typical overly lenient style and it failed. Is Elfath capable of shedding his MLS/CONCACAF (Brian Hall) way of officiating? It'll serve him and match well if he's able to do it.

DeleteElfath has range. He can succeed with leniency or with being strict. I'm curious which path he chooses for this game.
I view both as permissive, overly lenient, and player friendly. Now that Hall is gone, CONCACAF has started to emerge from that dark chapter that Hall sunk CONCACAF into. Sadly Liga MX (with Archundia) is going the wrong way.

DeleteArbiter clearly has no idea. Ask anyone in Australia or AFC whether they think Beath is "overly lenient". He's never been accused of that before.
