  1. Wow, just saw on Instagram that Mr Faghani is active and his profile is public!!? How do you comment this, very rare situation for elite referees?

    1. Think it’s a fake account. Just like they made a fake one for Clattenburg before. But who knows.

    2. I thought it also, but then saw photos from opening match. He was with his ARs

    3. He is very active in other forms of social media too ;)

  2. 3': very delayed offside flag by AR2, it was quite clear.
In such situations, assistant referees must find the courage to raise immediately the flag, othwerise, given the guidelines, I can't blame hit at all. So far 2 calls, 2 correct decisions.

    1. Quite clear is an understatement! I remember that Alireza's ARs struggled in the last game (lots of delayed flags and they were not always right)

    2. Sorry I meant:
"however, given the guidelines, I can't blame him at all"

  3. What a late flag for offside... What AR waiting for? To see clash btw goalie and attacker?

    ReplyDelete
  4. Strong reaction against dissent in 7‘, but also in 3‘ when AR2 signaled a foul against Serbia.

    1. Most probably the call was a wrong one by him...IMO

    2. Soham, do you like this approach by Faghani? He looks to be a totally different referee than Irmatov under this point of view. I ask you because you can say more about AFC...

      Delete
    3. Faghani is always a stronger personality in general than Irmatov, if you ask me... In very heated and tough always Faghani succeeds more than Irmatov!

      Delete
  5. Strong management by Faghani, it was needed.

    ReplyDelete
  6. I don‘t like his double whistles to be honest - somehow annoying.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Faghani’s problem is that he whistles way too much after a foul.

    1. Mitrović always strong "managemented" by refs and opponents.

      Delete
    2. Fifa have 'preparation' for refs.
They give them documents with scouting of the players, and Mitrović is marked with '!'

      Delete
  8. I am a little concerned about Faghani's position. He interfered the Brazil players several times.

    1. Yes I noted this too... He will fix it up!

      Delete
    2. It is not the same style of positioning when Brasil is playing. Ref must be very careful

      Delete
    3. He did interfere 5-6 times till now!

      Delete
  9. Good onside decision by AR2 in 28‘.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Very good onside call by AR2. GSO for Brasil after that..

  11. 27' : Once again Faghani interfered with play

  12. Deserved yellow for Ljajic

  13. Correct YC for SPA in 32‘.

  14. Correct YC and bench management.

  15. What a wonderfull referee!

    1. Almost nothing happened in the match and the referee interfered with play 6-7 times :D

  21. Great refereeing so far. Some minor points to improve (positioning, whistle technique), but definitely well-accepted on the pitch.

    1. Positioning is the most important... Interfered with play at least 5 times!

      Delete
    2. Positioning doesn’t mean movement on the pitch.
One could also interfer, but if well positioned when he has to decide, THIS is the most important.
Faghani has shown a lot of other qualities, far more important than the movement in the pitch.

You are not a referee, you CAN’T know...

  22. He whistled 4 seconds earlier than the minimum stoppage time. :)))
    I am a mathematician.

  23. Neymar is one of the players that I would give immediately YC at the beginning of the match. He will surely deserve it very fast for his (numerous) simulations. One of the most iritating player to watch.

    1. Referees can't enter a match with such biased mindset, I'm extremely sorry to say!

      Delete
    2. Teo, I agree! I dislike his too many theatrical inputs during the matches...just unacceptable!

      Delete
    3. Faghani very good so far...

      Delete
    4. Neymar makes you want to punch the tv. I can’t imagine what the Serbs are thinking about him in this game. It’s terrible how he simulates.

      Delete
    5. I can't stand his behaviour, it is so boring to see it again and again. I would also give him YC as soon as possible.

      Delete
    6. If you ask others. They'll have a similar opinion of Cristiano Ronaldo. While other may have it towards Messi. It's all part of the game however. And simulation will continue to be part of the game until FIFA adopts a worldwide zero tolerance stance against it.

      Delete
  24. Neymar is touched/pulled by an opponent on his shoulder, falls to the ground and shows how much pain there is - on his cheek.... The heritage from Rivaldo. Awful. Embarrassing. And incredibly stupid since a YC today will rule him out of R16.

    ReplyDelete
  25. A very convincing FH for Faghani. I like his attitude and positioning. Good luck for the SH, it’ll be though!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Correct YC for Matic,SPA

    ReplyDelete
  27. Not intense game. Fair-play so far.
    Difficulty Normal for refs.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Yes and proper adjustment from Faghani to maintain a profile suitable for the game!

      Delete
  28. Missed foul right before Brazil 2nd goal.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Disagree. Goal is valid.

      Delete
    2. After having watched some replays, I think we can say for sure no clear mistake. Maybe even correct to play on.

      Delete
    3. 50-50 situation. Supportable call. No need for VAR intervention!

      Delete
    4. Nope! No foul there. Mutual holding/jostling. Serbian player first to put his arm across the chest of Miranda to try an impede his movement. But when the Serbian player senses that he's going to be beat, he goes to ground looking for the referee to bail him out.

      Delete
    5. After looking at the replays, I'm shocked how anyone can see that as a foul by Miranda at all...

      Delete
    6. Also for me correct decision to allow the goal. It’s Mitrovic who positions himself more or less in the path of Miranda and moreover putting his arm as a barrier in front of the Brazilian player, who is only trying to reach the ball.

      Delete
    7. @Sherif perfect analysis

      Delete
    8. Good decision, it can't be foul.

      Delete
    9. It's closer to penalty then attacking foul.

      Delete
  29. Possible foul for Serbia 1 sec. Before 2:0?

    1. Was there foul worthy of a booking on Kolarov?

  31. No foul decision prior to goal is at least suporrtable

    ReplyDelete
  32. Not intense game? Bah...

Remember that a match is easy also because the referee makes it possible!
Faghani is LEADING the match since the behinning, this means to have full control (filo now...)

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Of course that is the fact in many matches. But in this match it is not. Players just behave good.

      Delete
    2. They behave good because the ref made a wonderful job since the beginning and he continues to be actively present...
      this have to be considered!

      Delete
    3. Absolutely easy match!

      Delete
    4. Soham, you say too easily "easy". :)

      Delete
    5. Soham doesn’t referee, he can’t know what to referee means...
i’m sorry but this is the truth!

      Delete
    6. Yes! Because I think it's very easy for him! Our Faghani has handled many more challenging matches than this and done exceptionally well... So this is literally nothing for him! ;)

      Delete
    7. @pino Thank you... I'm obliged :D

      Delete
  33. Faghani up to now. Assigned to 2 "big" games. In both games he's done an admirable job. In neither match has he been the focus. Maybe the time has come for an AFC referee to be rewarded with a World Cup Final.

    1. That it's for sure.
      Big candidate.

    2. Will be a proud moment for all Asians! 😇

    3. Just goes to show that you don't have to be from a certain country. A certain confederation. Or officiate in certain competitions to be a World Class referee. You're either good on the big stage or you're not.

      Delete
    4. But Ravshan disappointed us :( :(

      Delete
    5. As Kassai, Irmatov was in charge of SF WC2010 (both young). Probably it's very hard to be top level for 8-10 years and be motivated. Many issues about putting young refs in biggest matches....

      Delete
  34. Solid game, mistake free. Didn’t disqualify himself for more big matches

    ReplyDelete
  35. Much more than solid. Only problem the positioning. Perfect matchcontrol, vety good authority, clear bodytalk and strict, but respectful communication, perfect discipline management and good foul detection. HF or Final.

  36. The Pitana-Faghani pair of today will remain in my memories..........................
Wonderful Faghani, in a wonderful athletic form. Like Pitana this afternoon, Alireza never gave the impression of suffering the moments of the match, never gave signs of suffering. Always the match in the bag with strong leadership. I didn't like it when he entered a diatribe with his head down going to crash into the head of a player seems to me of Brazil. He remedied smilingly by making it clear that he had bumped into it involuntarily but it is not so, he wanted to get in of force at low head exaggerating and making mistakes. It does not have the physical structure to allow it. On this must reflect .................. but two screams well given at the beginning and won him. It makes everything seem easy and this is a quality.
    Therefore:
    - Brazil or Argentina in the final ? Final in Alireza.
    - Otherwise last race to Nestor and Alireza in Semi with Brych.

    1. Don't forget Ricci and couple of Europeans. Big chances that in final will be 2 European teams. In that case Euro ref. will be for sure. Pitana(Ricci) and Faghani SF. 3rd place Geiger.
      Final R:Kuipers FO:Mažić

    2. It's just too early to make any predictions for the final! Without knowing the teams, their style of play etc. putting a referee in a match is just impossible! @Bozidar

      Delete
    3. Brych? Really? After he already sent one team home, you need another opportunity? I can't wait to see him one more time.

    1. I repeat what I just said above... It's just too early to make any predictions for the final! Without knowing the teams, their style of play etc. putting a referee in a match is just impossible! But I would be really proud of the Asians if this appointment indeed happens 😎

    2. I think AFC deserved that in 2010! (And considering the waek performance of Webb in Final, is a big pity!).

  38. Federico, credo che il VAR in finale sarà Zwayer. I think that the final VAR will be Zwayer

    ReplyDelete

    1. Ok, thanks! We could use English if you want.
Why do you think that? Irrati is very often VAR in big matches...

      Delete
  39. Ricci is considered just ok in Brazil. WF final is not going to happen.
Alireza might get a SF like Ravshan did.
I still think Kuipers or Çakir are favourites at this point.

  40. I am from uganda,have been enjoying your discussions.Nice to join u.

  41. yes, faghani is a strong candidate for world cup final. because he was supervised by pierluigi collina. also for me could be geiger team, if russia are not in the final. and the uefa referee for the final for me are kuipers and mazic.

    1. Pierluigi Collina observes referees in every match played in Moscow! :D

  42. Performances in two matches of four ''favourites'' for the final, who are the most frequently mentioned on this blog: Kuipers, Cakir, Pitana and Faghani were quite on par in my opinion, I would say that Faghani's performance yesterday was sligthly above the par in terms of managing (Brazilian) players. Comparing performances of Faghani and Kuipers, the former was a bit better, namely there were no endless discussions between Neymar and Faghani as it happend with Kuipers.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Because the match yesterday wasn't 0-0 till the 90th minute so Neymar wasn't frustrated or losing the plot! Both the matches had completely different circumstances throughout!

      Delete
    2. But one can say Kuipers had that penalty situation whereas Faghani had no KMIs so that's an area Faghani is definitely ahead!

      Delete
  43. His performance in that match was great .
Probability he will be referee in final game

  45. HELLO VIEWERS

GET OUT OF FINANCIAL MESS WITH THE HELP OF drbenjaminfinance@gmail.com

I have been in financial mess for the past months, I’m a single mum with kids to look after. My name is REBECCA MICHAELSON, and am from Ridley Park, Pennsylvania. A couple of weeks ago My friend visited me and along our discussion she told me about DR BENJAMIN OWEN FINANCE of drbenjaminfinance@gmail.com that he can help me out of my financial situation, I never believed cause I have spend so much money on different loan lenders who did nothing other than running away with my money. She advised, I gave it a try because she and some of her colleagues were rescued too by this Godsent lender with loans to revive their dying businesses and paying off bills. so I mailed him and explain all about my financial situation and therefore took me through the loan process which was very brief and easy. After that my loan application worth $278,000.00USD was granted, all i did was to follow the processing and be cooperative and today I am a proud business owner sharing the testimony of God-sent Lender. You can as well reach him through the Company Email drbenjaminfinance@gmail.com

    THANK YOU VERY MUCH
